Progress

I’ve started on a Ribby Cardi in two shades of orange. The knitting is going very fast and I’m actually looking forward to the finishing part. I need to get more practice before I redo the finishing on the Three Penny.

I’m also being painstakingly careful with the knitting since I want to submit this one for the fair. I had to rip back about 20 rows on the back to fix and odd twist in one stitch that created a hole. I’ve seen that before in my work and I wonder how I am doing that.

I wish I had read the Yarn Harlot’s post first and just droppped down to that one stitch, but this cardi has been fun so it was worth it.

Student knits her own Ferrari

Art graduate Lauren Porter knitted a Ferrari sportscar for her honours degree at Bath Spa University.

The classic red bodywork consists of 250 squares of garter stitch made by Lauren and 20 family members and friends.

The windows are V-shaped stocking stitch, while the details are crochet and the badge is embroidered.

It’s all supported by a steel frame which Lauren, 22, of Greatham, Hants, welded herself.

Family Treasure

Chris, Paula, and Audrey gave us a wonderful wedding gift:

Neko gave her paw of approval right away. Seriously, as soon as I had layed it over the couch she took her place and stayed there for a few hours.

I feel very honored. I can’t even begin to imagine the time it took for them to do all of this work. They did all of this in secret and with a very short time line. Throw into that a yarn that had a mind of it’s own when it came to gauge! Thanks gals!!!
