I’ve officially had it with my ISP/web hosting provider so this site will be relocating shortly. It will be down for a while during the move, but I’ll have more updates of Rachel and knitting once I’m back up with a new ISP. The web address (URL) will be the same so check back later next week.
UPDATE: We are now at our new home!!!! I am very happy with my new service. Write me if you’re looking for a good hosting service
I’m now also using WordPress and was able to import all of my old MovableType posts from the original blog. Now I just need to get the gallery all set up again and tink with the look-and-feel and I’ll be back 100%

I spent a couple of hours today at the hospital being monitored. They’ve sent me home and scheduled me to come back tomorrow morning to be induced. My doctor is being very up front with me that it is going to be a very very long process and still a high chance for a c-section. They were talking about starting it today, but the hospital had a flood of other births and c-sections going on and tomorrow is more open for the staff.
Wayne and I have lots of movies to watch and a book on CD from the library. I think I need to pack more knitting than just the two pairs of socks I have originally planned to take since I’m almost finished with one sock from being there today.

Today is the gherkin’s official due date… so I’m at home resting.
I’ve been playing with some of the new styles from Movable Type, but it’s a really buggy process. I’ve done a lot of manual edits to my style sheets so everything past this first page still needs a lot more work. Time to go take a break and work on a sock

At my appointment on Saturday the doctor said I was 1cm dilated so the baby will most likely be here this week. She also said it’s not naturally here by Saturday we’ll have to make plans to induce by the 14th at the latest.
So, while I’m sitting here getting more and more anxious every day, I’ve decided to run a little contest here on the new section of the blog. Leave a comment with your guess and I’ll send out a special prize for the closest guess in order of the baby’s sex, weight, and hour:minute of the birth.
Here’s a picture of the baby’s room. (Neko really likes to hang out in here)
There is a rocker that will be moved up from the living room to go in the corner, and I have some plain dark curtains to replace the thin flower ones. Now that I look at this picture, some of the animal wall-hangings need to be shifted around too. I doubt we’ll spend much time in here during the first few weeks. The pack-n-play has a bassinet part that will be a better size for a newborn.

DH and I are pretty much as ready as we are going to be. We’ve got the car seat and the pack-n-play all put together . Laundry for the baby’s first week is all done, and our bags are packed. Last weekend I cooked a lot of chicken and meatballs to have on hand once we come home from the hospital.

Knitting has been limited to yet another pair of Feather-N-Fan socks and simple rib socks for DH. I’m saving the Windows steeks for when my mom is here next week. The extra set of eyes and a non-clouded/sleep deprived brain will be a big help in preventing total disaster.
